Wendy Statue Model Meets Her Bronze Self After 60 Years

Since the 1960s, a bronze Peter Pan statue by sculptor Sir Cecil has stood in Dunedin Botanic Gardens, New Zealand. Katherine Lee, who posed as Wendy at age 9, went on to study at Oxford, run a small opera company, and eventually became a director of policy at the Ministry of Justice, receiving honors along the way. Now 68, Lee visited the statue for the first time earlier this week. A talk was also held at the gardens on Sunday. 'It was very nostalgic—like coming home,' she said.

Jacket Potatoes Make a Comeback in the UK

Jacket potatoes—oven-baked potatoes topped with cheese, beans, and other toppings—first appeared in newspapers in 1846. Food businesses with 'spud' in their name have surged from 7 to 70 in just two years. SpudBros, founded in 2020, has become wildly popular thanks to social media, with customers lining up in droves. Even Subway has started selling them. SpudBros portions are reportedly quite generous. As experts say, 'Potatoes are healthy—as long as you don't overeat them.'
